About the template
What this flooring quote template covers and why it wins more installs
Flooring quotes lose work when subfloor prep is hidden inside install labour and the board spec is vague ('laminate flooring' instead of 'AC4 12mm laminate'). The template below makes each layer of the install visible: uplift of the old floor, subfloor prep and self-levelling where needed, underlay with vapour barrier, board supply with grade specified, install labour per square metre, edge trim per linear metre, and clean-down.
Larger square footage needs a higher overcut allowance built into the supply line, so name the board count and the extra you have included for cuts. AC3 vs AC4 vs AC5 laminate is three price points; specify the wear grade so the client compares like for like against a cheaper quote.

Common mistakes on flooring installers quotes
The patterns that quietly lose jobs, get queried at payment time, or leave money on the table.
Mistake: Board grade not specified
Better: AC3 (light residential), AC4 (residential/light commercial), AC5 (commercial) are three price points. State the grade so the client compares apples to apples.
Mistake: No overcut allowance
Better: Quote board metres at 8 to 10 percent above the room area for cuts and offcuts. State the calculation. Without it, you run short on day two and absorb the extra delivery.
Mistake: Subfloor prep on all metres
Better: Quote prep per sq m but bill only on metres that need it. Show the rate so the client knows what to expect if uneven floor is found.
Mistake: Underlay missing or vapour barrier not mentioned
Better: Concrete subfloors need a vapour barrier; suspended timber subfloors do not. Name what is included to head off warranty disputes around moisture damage.
Mistake: Beading and trim lumped into install
Better: Beading is sold by the linear metre and labour is real. Show it as its own line so the client cannot ask 'do we really need the trim' on day three.
Mistake: No clean-down line
Better: Floor offcuts and dust take an hour to remove. Bill 'site clean and offcut removal' as its own line so you are paid for the trip back.
FAQ
Flooring Installers quote template questions
Everything flooring installers ask before they switch to a structured quote.
Uplift, subfloor prep per sq m, underlay with spec, board supply with wear grade and overcut allowance, install labour per sq m, beading per linear metre, silicone and transitions, clean-down, tax, deposit terms, and banking details.
30 days for most jobs. Laminate and LVT prices move with the exchange rate and imported lines have lead times. State the validity so material price changes do not bite mid-week.
Yes. 40 percent on acceptance covers board purchase (non-returnable once cut). State it in the quote terms.
Always. AC3 (light residential), AC4 (residential/light commercial), AC5 (commercial) are the three main wear grades for laminate. Naming the grade stops the cheap-tile substitution and justifies the price.
8 to 10 percent above the room area for standard plank layouts. 12 to 15 percent for herringbone or diagonal. State the calculation: 'Boards: 46 sqm supplied for 42 sqm room (10% overcut)'.
On concrete subfloors yes. On suspended timber, only if the void is unventilated. State which subfloor type is being installed on so the warranty stays valid.
