What it means
A snag list (also called a punch list in some markets) is the list of small defects, finishing touches, and minor issues identified at practical completion. The customer walks the site, notes the snags, hands you the list, and you fix everything on it before the job is signed off as complete and the final payment is released.
What ends up on a snag list
Paint touch-ups around new sockets. A tile with a chipped edge. A door that scrapes the floor. A skirting line that does not sit flush. Sockets that are not square to the wall. These are the small finish issues that get missed during the bulk of the build and only become obvious when the customer walks through at completion.
Managing the snag list well
Walk the site with the customer rather than receiving the list cold. Agree priorities (real defects vs preference items). Time-box the fix (most snag lists should clear in 2-3 days for a residential build, longer for commercial). Get a signed sign-off when the list is cleared so the retention or final payment is released.
How QuoteGenio handles snag sign-offs
Reference 'snag walk-through completed and signed off' on the final invoice so the customer sees the work is closed out. The customer pays the balance against a clean reconciled scope.

Progress Payment
A staged invoice issued during a longer project, billed against milestones or a percentage-complete basis rather than waiting for the entire job to finish.
